Foundry Shop

What is the mold?

The mold is a cavity which is prepared in the sand or any metallic the part that can be used to make casting by molten metal into the mold.

What is cope?

The upper part of the flask is called to Cope.

What is Drag?

The lower part of the flask is called Drag.

What is flask?

The rectangular box which is used for making a mold to place the sand in it. This is made of wooden or any other metal.

What is the wooden board?





The wooden board is placed on the floor for the flask. The drag the part is placed on the wooden board for producing a smooth surface.

What is a pattern?

The pattern is a modal of anything which is used to prepared mold by placing the pattern in the sand.

What is a runner?

The runner is a vent or hole for pouring the material into the mold. The runner is prepared by a sprue pin or sprue cutter.

What is riser?

The riser is a hole or vent for escaping the gases which are produced during casting.

What is casting?

The casting is a process to producing new shape to molten metal poured into the mold, on cooling is known as casting.

Carpentry Shop

What is the seasoning?

It is prosses of removing moisture from the wood.

Name the different process of seasoning.

Air seasoning, Klin seasoning, Water seasoning

Classify the tools used in carpentry shops.

Holding, Marking, Measuring, cutting, sewing, planning , drilling and boring.

Foundry Shop

Define foundry

A foundry is a place where a job is done by melting and pouring the molten metal into the mold is known as a foundry.

Name five common metals that are satisfactory for casting.

Aluminum, megnicum,coper ,bronze, brass

Some advantage using plastic as a pattern material.

Light in weight, easy to remove, less brokerage, strength , good furnishing, resistance to wear.

List various pattern allowances.

Machining allowance, draft allowance, shrinkage allowance, shake allowance, Distorsion allowance.

What is the function of the riser?

The gases are removed through the riser.

What are the core prints?

This core is placed in the mold on the impression made in the sand. These projections are called core print.

Write some advantages of green sand molds.

This sand is natural in condition, Easy to availability.

Write some common causes of blow holes in a casting.

Due to not proper ventilation.

The high temperature of molten metal.

Pattern shrinkage allowance

पिघला हुआ धातु को मोल्ड में डालने के बाद, धातु में जमने के दौरान सिकुड़ने की प्रवृत्ति होती है। कुल कास्टिंग उत्पाद सिकुड़ जाता है और पैटर्न से छोटा हो जाता  है।पैटर्न और कास्टिंग के बीच मै अंतर  होने के कारण  उसे shrinkage allowance के रूप में जाना जाता है। धातु को डालने के दौरान संकोचन को प्रभावित करने वाला कारक तापमान होता है

Machining allowance for sand casting

कास्टिंग करंने के लिये machining allowance की आवश्यकता होती  है।मशीन अलाउंस बनाने के लिए पहले ड्राइंग की जाती है. जिस स्थान पर मशीन अलाउंस करनी होती है ओस पर अलग से लीनिंग की जाती है जिससे shrinkage  अलाउंस को अलग रखा जाए   

Draft allowance

Draft allowance में, पैटर्न सभी vertical सतहों से टेंपर्ड रहता है। यह आंतरिक और बाहरी सतहों को प्रदान करता है। पैटर्न को आसानी से हटाने के लिए यह आवश्यक है। यह ऊर्ध्वाधर ऊंचाई और मोल्डिंग विधि पर निर्भर करता है।

Shake allowance


सभी की पैटर्न मुट्ठी को वापस लेने से पहले, इसे हिलाया जाता है ताकि यह आस-पास की दीवार से मुक्त हो जाए, क्योंकि मोल्ड गुहा के इस आकार में वृद्धि के कारण पैटर्न को नकारात्मक allowance दिया जाता है।

Distortion allowance

कुछ निस्चित कास्टिंग होती है जो टूट जाती है इस के कारण इस को डिस्टॉरशन कहते है कूलिंग मैं अंतर होने के कारण जे डिफेक्ट हो सकता है

Movement of mould wall


अत्यधिक गर्मी के कारण, मोल्ड की दीवार को स्थानांतरित करने की प्रवृत्ति होती है, दीवार का यह movement ढलाई में अंतिम आकार को प्रभावित करता है।

Welding Joints

The joining of two metals in some specific way called different joints.

Welding

Butt Joint 

In this type of joint, the edges are joined in the same plane with each other.V or U shape is given to the edges to make joints strong.
Simplemechanism
Some examples of the butt joints.

Welding1. Bevel groove butt weld

Lap Joint

This type of joints is used to joining two overlapping plates so that the corner of each plate can be joined properly. The fillet type of welding is used. Common types of lap joints are.

1.Single lap

2.Double lap or Offset lap





Tee Joint

The two-piece of metal is joined as such a way to make a 90-degree angle. The welding joint looks like a T shape after joining the metal. This is a type of fillet weld. Different styles may be used for creating a Tee joint.

1. Plug weld

2. Fillet weld

3. Bevel-grooved weld

4. Slot weld

5. Flare bevel grooved weld

6. J groove weld

7. Melt through weld



Corner Joint

In this joint, the edge of two-piece are joined and their surface is kept at a right angle to each other. These types of joints are made in frames and boxes. Some examples of the corner joint.

1. Spot weld

2. V-groove weld

3. Fillet weld

4. U groove weld

5. Bevel groove weld

6. Square weld

7. Corner flange weld



Edge Joint

In this joint two parallel plates are joined edge to edge.

1. V-groove weld

Plug Joint

Plug joint used in a hole instead of rivet and bolts.

माइक्रो-मीटर रीडिंग।

एक माइक्रोमीटर एक इंजीनियरिंग उपकरण है जो वस्तु के बाहरी व्यास को मापने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। इसका उपयोग सटीक माप के लिए किया जाता है। इस यंत्र का उपयोग वस्तु के बहुत छोटे माप को प्राप्त करने के लिए किया जाता है। माइक्रोमीटर की सबसे कम गिनती MM में 0.01 और CM में 0.001 है। इस उपकरण का उपयोग विभिन्न प्रकार के आयाम जैसे कि व्यास, लंबाई और मोटाई में किया जाता है।

माइक्रोमीटर के भागों पर चर्चा करें

1.Frame




माइक्रोमीटर का फ्रेम हिस्सा आधा चाप के आकार का होता है, जिसमें एक तरफ Anvil जुड़ा होता है और दूसरा साइड स्पिंडल होता है। मुख्य कार्य Anvil को पकड़ने के लिए एक फ्रेम है जो एक तरफ होता है।

2. Measuring Face

Measuring Face के दो मुख्य भाग हैं Anvil और Spindle जो sleeve की मदद से सटीक रीडिंग देना है।

3. Index Line

इंडेक्स लाइन का मुख्य कार्य रीडिंग स्केल को दो भागों में विभाजित करना है। इंडेक्स लाइन का ऊपरी हिस्सा 2,3,5,6 उदाहरण के लिए सरल रीडिंग देता है और इंडेक्स लाइन का निचला स्केल पॉइंट रीडिंग जैसे 0.1,0.3,3.7 आदि देता है।

4. Sleeve Scale

स्लीव स्केल एक मापने का पैमाना होता है, जो माप की लाइन धुरी और अनुमानित रीडिंग लाइन और इंडेक्स लाइन के लिए लंबवत होती है।

5. Lock Nut

लॉक नट का कार्य उस पर एक थ्रेड के माध्यम से रीडिंग को लॉक करना है। यह स्लीव स्केल को लॉक करता है।

6. Thimble Scale

थिम्बल स्केल एक मापने का पैमाना होता है जिसमें horizontal माप रेखा होती है।

7.Thimble

थिम्बल का कार्य केवल थिम्बल स्केल को घुमाना है।

8. Ratchet Speeder

Ratchet Speeder के कार्य ने धुरी को समायोजित किया है। ratchet स्पीडर को घुमाए जाने पर यह धुरी की वास्तविक स्थिति देता है।
